The Academy for Sports Dentistry is providing a Sports Dentist Certification Course to encourage dentists to be prepared in the field of Sports Dentistry. Two essential primary components will be the focus: preventing trauma and managing trauma when it occurs This 1.5-day course will prepare you for both topics will include: the Athletic Trainer/Dentist relationship, oral cancer screening, dental trauma prevention, dental trauma preparedness, scanning, 3D printing, mouthguard fabrication, suturing, and more! Instructors have a combined total of over 150 years of sports dental experience covering NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS, NCAA, and high school teams. You will receive 11.25 hours of CE units. Dr. Leslie Rye, DDS, FASD, FAGD, FICD: A pioneer in team dentist program development, athletic trainer collaboration, and building effective mouthguard and injury prevention protocols. Dr. Ray Padilla, DDS: He will present on current advances in sports-related orofacial trauma recognition, treatment, and prevention, drawing on his extensive experience with professional, collegiate, and international athletes. Dr. George Jaber, DDS: A board-certified dentist, anesthesiologist, and dental surgeon, a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and an attending anesthesiologist at USC, bringing advanced expertise in anesthesia, surgery, and complex patient management to sports dentistry education.
